About the role
To manage and support key HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, HR administration, payroll support, training and compliance, while promoting a productive, engaged and positive workplace in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage recruitment, candidate screening, interviews, reference checks and onboarding.
- Prepare employment offers, contracts and new employee documentation.
- Facilitate employee orientation and ensure effective onboarding.
- Respond to employee queries on HR policies, benefits and workplace procedures.
- Manage and document employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace investigations.
- Support conflict resolution and promote positive employee relations.
- Conduct exit interviews and coordinate employee separation processes.
- Ensure compliance with Kenyan labour laws, HR policies and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate mandatory employee training and workplace safety initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee personnel records.
- Monitor employee attendance, overtime, leave and timekeeping records.
- Update and maintain employee information in the HRIS.
- Prepare employment confirmations, promotion letters and other HR correspondence.
- Prepare and verify monthly payroll changes, including salaries, deductions, bonuses and new hires.
- Coordinate employee benefits, medical insurance and related employee queries.
- Organize employee training programs and maintain training records.
- Coordinate performance appraisal cycles and track completion of employee reviews.
- Support managers in setting KPIs and performance objectives.
- Monitor and support Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs).
- Prepare HR reports and workforce performance analytics for management.
- Identify performance gaps and coordinate appropriate training and development initiatives.
- Support internal and external HR audits, labour inspections and compliance reviews.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resource management, Business Administration or a related field.
- CHRP, CIPD or equivalent professional HR qualification.
- 10 years’ relevant HR experience, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
- Good knowledge of Kenyan labour laws and HR best practices.
- Experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll support and HR administration.
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Strong Microsoft Office and HR reporting skills
