Job Purpose
The Finance Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership of the Finance Department, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective treasury management, sound internal controls, statutory compliance, budgeting, and financial analysis. The role supports business performance by providing timely financial insights, safeguarding company assets, and ensuring efficient financial operations across the organization’s branches, fleet, and corporate functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the Finance Department, ensuring efficient financial operations and compliance with company policies.
- Prepare timely management accounts, financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and performance reports.
- Manage cash flow, treasury, banking, and payment processes to ensure financial stability.
- Ensure compliance with tax, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll finance review, reconciliations, and fixed asset management.
- Strengthen internal controls, mitigate financial risks, and safeguard company assets.
- Support business decision-making through financial analysis, budgeting, and profitability reporting.
- Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely implementation of audit recommendations.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop the finance team while promoting accountability and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with management and other departments to drive operational and financial performance.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA(K), ACCA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification is required.
- Membership or eligibility for membership in a relevant professional accounting body is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5–8 years’ progressive experience in finance, accounting, audit, or financial management, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in the travel and transport industry is highly preferred. Candidates with experience in FMCG, retail, or manufacturing industries are also encouraged to apply.
- Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax legislation, statutory compliance, financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and internal controls.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills is an added advantage.
